The Facts
In digital marketing, we often focus on content, content, content. Creating a solid base of content that answers your audience’s questions, provides solutions to their problems, and helps them achieve their goals is extremely important. However, if they never bother to read that content, it can’t do any of those things. So how can you create content your audience will actually engage with? Visuals.

Humans are, by nature, visual creatures. According to TNW, our brains process visuals 60,000 times faster than text. Not only that, but we remember an average of 65% of what we see, as opposed to only around 10% of what they hear. We also know that people have short attention spans. So it shouldn’t be too surprising that visuals garner the highest engagement. In fact, Hubspot research indicates that photos get 53% more Likes, 104% more comments, and 84% more click-throughs.

So how can you incorporate more engaging visuals into your content?
If your looking to include more visual content into your marketing campaigns, here are a few types worth trying out:

Images: Large blocks of text can be off-putting and intimidating. Use engaging and contextually relevant images to break up content. People will be more likely to finish reading. According to marketer Jeff Bullas, articles with images get 94% more views.

Video: There are plenty of ways to use video to enhance your content. You can create explainer videos, animated how-to videos, customer testimonials, and even product demonstrations.

Infographics: Infographics are great for presenting statistics in an appealing and visually engaging way. Make sure that you provide accurate information and if at all possible, cite your sources. Everyone tends to love a good infographic, so it may be shared out multiple times which is a cost effective way to get your message out to your audience.

Memes: These visual images with humorous captions are easy to create. It’s important to ensure that memes will resonate with your intended audience. If your brand is geared towards younger people, then memes are a great option

These are just a few of the visual options you have for creating engaging content. If you want your audience to pay attention to your brand, creating visually stimulating content is the way to go.
